Applied Positive Psychology for European Schools

 positivities methodology2

PositivitiES is proposing a combination of four main tools for the introduction of positive psychology in the school:

LEARN: A on-line training course on positive psychology in education, oriented to teachers of primary and secondary, that will instruct on the theoretical basis, the applied aspects, and the tools to integrate positive interventions in the classroom. The goal is to transfer to the teacher the knowledge resulting of research in this area, and providing a guide of interventions, some of them very simple, other more elaborated, that can be integrated either in normal classes or in special educational projects.

PRACTICE: An on-line coaching programme for educators to help them to adopt some of the skills in a personal way. The goal is to help the teacher to find new ways of professional fulfilment and teaching enjoyment, adopting healthy psychological habits. Leadership, emotional regulation, strength development, attentional training, are some of the aspects that will be covered. The coaching will be performed in parallel to the training course, and synchronized to the contents of the course.

APPLY: An on-line database of pedagogical resources to facilitate the practical integration of positive psychology methods both in normal classes and in special projects. This third element will include also evaluation tools to assess the impact of the interventions.

SHARE: Exchange of experiences and results will be facilitated by on-line tools and the organisation of workshops. Additionally, a multiplication effort will be initiated in the dissemination work packages.

European Conference of Applied Positive Psychology in Education

A European Conference will be organised. The aims of this conference will be: to facilitate exchange of knowledge and experience at European level, to disseminate the results of the PositivitiES project and other European activities, to start the foundation of an European Network of Positive Psychology in Schools.
